Adalimumab (Humira) being used for non-infectious uveitis is a big advance. In the past steroids were the main option and had big side effects, while Humira reduces inflammation by inhibiting TNF-α. Clinical data show it can reduce inflammation and protect vision, providing a better option for long-term control. For many difficult patients, this is an important new weapon.
